Rio Tinto has signed an agreement with DB RREEF property group to be a major tenant for its flagship CBD Brisbane offices to be built at 123 Albert Street.

By late 2010, the site at the corner of Charlotte and Albert streets will bring all Rio Tinto's Brisbane business units, functions and projects together under one roof in a sustainable building.

The miner will lease 25,600 square metres of the 37,000 square metres in the building over 10 years, subject to regulatory and government approvals.

The company says it creates a flexible and open workplace to improve collaboration.

"In offering a range of settings for varying work settings and containing excellent amenities for all employees and visitors, the facility will provide leading edge accommodation for Rio Tinto for the next decade," says the company.
